Mi nombre es Valentina Cadena Renza, nací en 1995 y crecí en Cali, Colombia y desde el 2013 vivo en Bogotá.
Transcurría el año 2003 cuando tuve acceso a Internet por primera vez, yo tendría unos ocho años y por suerte o por desgracia me dejaban usar la computadora de la casa sin supervisión alguna. En ese momento, el internet era un espacio más anónimo y menos restringido de lo que es ahora y yo, al ser una niña sobreprotegida y retraída encontré en la web un espacio crucial y “seguro” para la formación de mi identidad.
Puedo decir con toda seguridad que crecí en internet y que es gracias a esta sobrexposición a la pantalla, al cariño y a la nostalgia que siento por estos años que he encontrado un lenguaje para el desarrollo de mi practica artística, logrando así articular y explorar otros temas importantes para mí como lo son la espiritualidad, la sexualidad y el trabajo.

My name is Valentina Cadena Renza, I was born in 1995 and grew up in Cali, Colombia, since 2013 I’ve lived in Bogota.
It was the year 2003 when I had internet access for the first time, I was only eight years old and luckily or unfortunately I was unsupervised the whole time. Then, the internet was more of an anonymous space, less restricted and since I was an overprotected and shy little girl I found the Internet as a crucial and ‘safe’ space for the formation of my identity.
I can surely say that I grew up online and that thanks to that overexposure to the screen, the love and nostalgia that I feel for those years, I have been able to find a language for the development of my artistic practice, thus managing to articulate and explore other themes that are important in my life like spirituality, sexuality and labour.
